On October 9, 2015, the Texas Employment Lawyers Association held its annual conference in San Miguel de Allende, Mexico. At the conference, Rod Tanner gave a presentation discussing recent developments relating to whistleblower retaliation law.
Tanner presented a paper co-authored by Tanner and Edith Thomas, titled Recent Developments In Whistleblower Retliation Law, which discussed several significant issues addressed by federal and state courts and legislatures in recent years, including the crackdown on corporate fraud under the Sarbanes-Oxley Act and the Dodd-Frank Act, as well as various protections provided under Texas statutes for individuals who suffer retaliation after reporting violations of the law.
